James K Smith Jr. Homicide
December 20, 2018

  This homicide occurred in Kansas City, Missouri near 24th and Brighton early in the morning on December 20, 2018.  The case number is 18-0097629.  According to news reports (not information from the Police Department) one or two shooters fired eight to ten shots, two hit the victim in the chest.  One suspect took off in a northbound direction on foot.  When police arrived at the scene the victim was still alive but succumbed shortly after and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

 

  The victim is James K Smith Jr.  Anonymous information to Crime Stoppers leading to an arrest or filing of charges is eligible for "up to $10,000.00" in reward money.

Lemonte Douglas Jr. Homicide
December 12, 2018

On December 12, 2018 officers responded to the 2900 block of Bales in KCMO where they found a man dead in a Nissan Maxima, witnesses told investigators the car had been there for several hours. The victim is 22-year-old Lemonte C. Douglas Jr. of Kansas City.  No suspect information is available.

Dylan Hill Homicide
December 11, 2018

  On 12-11-2018 at approximately 11 pm, officers of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department were dispatched to the area of 80th Terrace and James A. Reed Road, Kansas City, Missouri on a reported sound of shots call.  Upon arrival officers discovered the victim inside his vehicle with apparent trauma to his body.  KCFD EMS responded to the scene and declared the victim deceased. 

 

  Dylan Hill was 26 years old, was married and had two small children.  Up to a $10,000.00 cash reward is eligible for information submitted through Crime Stoppers via phone, web site or FREE P3 mobile app.



David Paterno Homicide - Shawnee, KS
August 08, 2018

STATUS: OPEN

  On August 8th, 2018 at around 1:06 AM, Shawnee Police Officers were dispatched to an address in the 21900 block of W. 51st Place to investigate a physical disturbance.  

 

  Upon arrival, officers found a 57 year old male, David J Paterno.   Mr. Paterno was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later died from his injuries.

Johnathon Porter Homicide
April 26, 2018

STATUS: OPEN
The Kansas City Police Department has released surveillance footage of a suspect of interest in the homicide where Johnathon Porter was killed in a shooting.  Mr. Porter was a contract worker for Spire Energy working near 9th Street and Brooklyn Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. Porter, 23, of Appleton City, was installing pipe when he and other workers were approached by a passerby who asked him for a cigarette.

Porter, who doesn't smoke, told the man he couldn't help him. As he walked away, the man turned and fired several shots in the direction of Porter, striking him.

Police released a 16-second video and asked for the public's help in identifying the man seen walking near where the shooting occurred.

Dominic Young Jr. Homicide
January 20, 2018

  The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and the Greater KC Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline continue to seek information in the January 20, 2018 homicide of 9 year old Dominic Young Jr. at 71 Highway and Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd.

  

Dominic Young Jr. was apparently hit by a stray gunshot while occupying a vehicle driven by his father and died as a result of his injuries.  Dominic, his father and brother were en route to Grandview at the time.  The vehicle driven by Dominic’s father was hit by gunshots from other vehicles apparently engaged in a gunfight according to statements.

 

  KCPD found a possible crime scene near the intersection where the father said the shooting happened.  When the father arrived home in Grandview, Dominic was not responsive.  Grandview police initially responded to the father’s home and found the boy in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

  A number of community leaders and organizations including former Kansas City Councilman John Sharp, City Councilman Scott Taylor, City Councilman Kevin McManus, State Representative Richard Brown, State Representative DaRon McGee, Mayor Pro Tem Scott Wagner, the City of KCMO and Concord Fortress of Hope Church (Pastor Ron Lindsay) have come forward to increase the existing reward in the case up to $10,000.00.  Those leaders are available for comment in regard to the case.

Double Shooting at The Lakes Apartments - Kansas City North

STATUS: OPEN
  Information is sought in the double shooting of two males on January 11, 2018 at The Lakes Apartments near Zona Rosa in Kansas City North.  The reward in the case has been increased to a possible $7,800.00 thanks to an additional contribution through a "Go Fund Me" campaign.

Zachary Pearce Homicide
December 04, 2017

STATUS: OPEN

KANSAS CITY, MO --- The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department and the Greater KC Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline are asking the public for assistance in identifying those responsible for the December 4, 2017 homicide of Zach Pearce near 40th and Walnut in Kansas City, Missouri. 

 

  Police said 24-year-old Zachary Pearce was shot and killed near the corner of 40th and Walnut sometime before midnight during an apparent robbery.  The suspect and at least two other people fled in a maroon colored SUV.

 

  Witnesses called police around 11:45 p.m. stating an SUV with at least three people inside, possibly two males and a woman as the driver, was observed.  It was reported that one passenger got out of the SUV with a black handgun and shot the victim who died at the scene. The SUV then took off eastbound down 40th Street and then south on Warwick. Investigators later found items belonging to the victim near 40th and Warwick.  This was Kansas City’s 134th homicide of 2017.

Kendrick Anderson Homicide
September 04, 2017

STATUS: OPEN

  The homicide took place on Sept 4, 2017 in the early morning hours around 12:00am.  Mr. Anderson was found in his wrecked vehicle on 71 Hwy and Meyer Blvd. 

 

  It is believed that Mr. Anderson came off the off ramp of 63rd St. heading southbound on 71 Hwy when someone fired several shots into his 2013 black Kia optima.  He lost control of the wheel, the car rolled down a hill hit a large heavy pole then came to rest.  Mr. Anderson had been out with friends on his birthday weekend and had just gotten a new car.

 

  A second passenger in the vehicle with Mr. Anderson was shot in the left arm but survived.  Mr. Anderson died two days before his 28th Birthday.
